DESCRIPTION: Alocasia ‘Black Suhita’ retains the lanceolate shape of Alocasia scalprum when juvenile, widening slightly as it matures and developing a deep sinus. The abaxial surface is green, differentiating it from the other two hybrids resulting from the same cross, Alocasia ‘Green Suhita’ and Alocasia ‘Suhita’, which both have red abaxials, and lighter green adaxials.
This hybrid is named after Suhita, the sixth empress of Majapahit (1429-1447), on the island of Java (home to the Hidayat brothers)
