DESCRIPTION: Alocasia ‘Suhita’ retains the lanceolate shape of Alocasia scalprum when juvenile, widening slightly as it matures. The abaxial surface is red, similar to another hybrid resulting from the same cross, Alocasia ‘Green Suhita’, and differentiating it from another result of the same cross, Alocasia ‘Black Suhita’ (which has green abaxials, and silvery dark green adaxials).

This hybrid is named after Suhita, the sixth empress of Majapahit (1429-1447), on the island of Java (home to the Hidayat brothers)
