HYBRIDIZER: Rodolfo Parulan Jr. of Somerset, UK crossed the two Alocasia parents in Sptember of 2024, harvesting berries in May of 2025 (see detailed timed photos below)
DESCRIPTION: A stunning pale silver-green hybrid which retains the long narrow leaves of its Alocasia longiloba parent.
This hybrid’s name, ‘Rodan’, is a portmanteau of Rodolfo and his friend Dan Spencer of Leicester, UK. Rodolfo indicated that it also has roots in Gaelic, where it means “fertile and productive”.
